Naloxone (also known as Narcan®) is an opioid-blocking drug that has been used to quickly reverse heroin, morphine, OxyContin®, and other opioid overdoses. It is a safe drug with minimal side effects and has been approved for use in emergency settings in Canada for over 40 years. The current Fentanyl crisis has made this emergency treatment much more well known.

Two sessions:

1. Naloxone Training beginning at 10am for approximately one hour… shows you how to administer life-saving Naloxone if you encounter someone who is experiencing an overdose from Opioid Drug use.

2. We will hold a Train the Trainer session for those who are interested so you can train others to administer this life-saving antidote.

Holiday Dinner update

Financial constraints are preventing Positive Living BC from hosting our annual Members’ Holiday Dinner in 2016. Your Board of Directors knows how important this event is to many Society Members–and we apologize for this seemingly Scrooge-like start to your holiday season. However, we simply were unable to secure enough funding for this year’s event when the cost of other direct services are considered. Be assured, the Dinner remains a priority for us and the event will be restored as soon as funds are available (hopefully in 2017). We are also hoping to provide a comparable free-to-members event sometime in Spring 2017 to launch our move into our new headquarters. Stay tuned!

Please contact neils@positivelivingbc.orgwith your questions and concerns.
