Sex Now Survey

Have you done the Sex Now Survey yet? Often referred to as “the gay census,”
the survey aims to
understand better the issues affecting our communities across Canada.

Questions cover a range of issues facing gay, bisexual, queer, and other men who have sex with men (cis and trans), and Two-Spirit people (GBT2Q) in Canada and include everything from sexual practices and health, to opinions on public policies.

Members Christmas Dinner

80% of tickets are SOLD ! The event will be on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at The Junction on Davie Street. Doors open at 5pm, dinner starts at 6pm. After dinner gifts will be handed out, but not in the traditional sense, this is the Game Show edition. Names will be drawn and guests will come up and play games to win the gift. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for their guests. You can sign up in person by seeing Ken Coolen on the 4th floor or purchase online .

AIDS Vancouver will have their annual Christmas Hamper Grocery.  You can join us in the lounge and learn how to make some amazing Christmas Treats that require no baking.  Including Microwave Peanut Brittle, Cherry Balls and Rum Balls.

Pottery Workshop Part 2 – For those who came to part one of the workshop you will get the chance to glaze your items.

Flu Shot & Pottery

Get your flu shot with Positive Living BC on the 3rd floor of 1101 Seymour Street. On November 27, 2019 from 11am-1pm. Please bring a care card with you. Here are some reasons on why it is important to get your flu shot. Please email Brandon for more information.

Also on NOV 27: Introduction to Pottery – part 1-Learn how to make your very own Sushi plate. After the item is made it will need to be kilned. This means you will need to come back for part 2 to glaze your item. The class will start at 1:30pm in the 4th floor lounge. All supplies provided. Wear a t-shirt you don’r mind getting messy as pottery can be messy.

November Art Class !

Pottery Workshop – Join us in the Member’s Lounge on Wednesday November 13th 
@1:30pm
. This will be part one of two. In the first workshop you will learn how to make a sushi plate which will then be taken by the instructor to bake. On November 27 (part 2) you will get to paint & glaze your plate. All materials for this workshop will be supplied.

Changes in the Members Lounge

Starting Monday November 4th, the lounge is being repurposed from an all-day, unstructured drop in model to providing social and educational specific opportunities in the afternoons.  The lounge, iCafe and Polli’s will only be open during 10-1pm for drop-in use.  During the afternoon the lounge will be accessible only for those here for activities.

Day of the Dead

Tuesday October 29th & Wednesday October 30th – Join the team in the lounge and help create our Day of the Dead Shrine. Some aspects of the shrine will include: The arch, The base,Photo, Water, Candles, Flowers, Fruit, bread, and food, Incense The shrine will be set up at the Festival of Hollows in Emery Barnes Park on October 31st. Email Ken for more details. 

Positively Social, Halloween edition

Wednesday October 31st – This will be our next Positively Social event in conjunction with the Festival of Hollows being put on by The Gathering Place.  Find more information here. From 5pm – 7pm you can stop by Positive Living and enjoy a bowl of chili with some fresh bread to warm you up for the outdoor festival. Email Ken for more details.
