Cancel the 2019 Rent Increase

The BC government recently announced that a 4.5% rent increase will be allowed in 2019.
Instead of standing up for renters, it looks like the government is going to let the highest rent increase in 15 years happen. But we can stop these rent increases from happening — if we act now. It is possible for the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Selina Robinson to cancel this rent hike for 2019 using her powers under the Regulations Act. Click here to lend your voice to this important cause.

Women’s Empowerment Forum

Shaping our Vision: APPLICATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 20, 2018 !

The Women’s Empowerment Forum will be taking place from October 22- 25, 2018 at Springbrook Retreat Centre. This forum will bring together women from across the province to generate ideas and identify needs to inform future programming and guide community-based women’s services in BC. Applicants must be an HIV+ woman however, you do not need to be a member of Positive Living BC to attend, but you are highly encouraged to. Apply today !

Cancel the 2019 Rent Increase

The BC government recently announced that a 4.5% rent increase will be allowed in 2019.
Instead of standing up for renters, it looks like the government is going to let the highest rent increase in 15 years happen. There are 60,000 families in Metro Vancouver who spend more than 50% of their income on housing, leaving us with very little money to cover our basic necessities!!
But we can stop these rent increases from happening — if we act now.
It is possible for the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Selina Robinson to cancel this rent hike for 2019 using her powers under the Regulations Act — but only if we tell her loud and clear, so she can’t just ignore our concerns! She needs to hear from renters across the province that this rent hike is unacceptable, and needs to be canceled.
