MAC AIDS Fund

MAC Cosmetics is a huge supporter of Positive Living BC. Our Event Coordinator Ken and our Peer Navigator Wendy got a chance to meet with all the MAC Managers from across BC. The monies rose by the MAC Team for the AIDS WALK through fundraisers and general donations came out to 10,145.55. This was then matched by the MAC AIDS Fund with another $10,145.55 for a total of $20,291.10! This is amazing & we would like to thank everyone who was involved in raising these funds.

PROGRAM

The Loblaws website to apply for a $25 gift card for price fixing bread is now open for applications. https://loblawcard.ca/

We are hoping that you might consider applying for the card and when it arrives donating it to the society to help fund new programming. Some of the ideas are: dinner with friends, cooking with friends, or supplies for the women’s lounge.

Applying for the card only takes a few minutes, and accepting the card does not exclude you from participating in the ongoing group law suits taking place.

We are seeking someone in BC who is taking EGRIFTA (Tesamorelin by injection) and is willing to share their experience with this Medication. EGRIFTA is a medication that helps manage abdominal body fat from HIV or treatment for HIV.

Be creative; we’re open to any ideas relevant to people living with HIV.

**Do you know someone who isn’t living with HIV but is a great workshop presenter? Consider co-presenting with this person, and make sure to indicate their status in your proposal.

ViVA

What is ViVA? ViVA is a community of HIV positive women, living in BC, who communicate with other HIV-positive women directly, primarily online. Established in 2007, the group started a listserv
(a confidential group email list) to facilitate easy communication. This forum is run by and for HIV-positive women, where women can speak freely about anything relating to HIV/AIDS and their lives.
It is a place where women can share their personal experiences, questions and opinions, or just listen in. For more info or to join in please
